Intellareturn Corp. Notified of Warranty Registration System Patent Grant

NEW YORK, NY -- April 26, 2005 -- Intellareturn Corporation was informed today by the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office of the expected grant of a key RFID patent. The patent, titled "Product Warranty Registration System and Method," will be issued.

The system and method patent relates to automated product registration with radio-frequency identification ("RFID") transponder technologies in connection with warranty and reverse logistics processes.

RFID tagging of goods is becoming a critical factor in making handling of returns more intelligent and far more efficient. Consumers will benefit from enhanced warranty service through automatic identification of their products. With RFID tagged goods being returned, sellers can better track and authenticate dates of sale and consumer ownership to provide new post-sale convenience and help prevent warranty fraud. Similarly, courier parcel shippers in the supply chain can expedite the handling of RFID-tagged items in the extended warranty process, cutting costs and improving efficiencies.

Adding an RFID tracker to a product enables automated interchange between a seller's point-of-purchase or other product registration system(s) and the Intellareturn Internet-based access to manufacturer warranty registration data together with third party courier shipper pick up or drop off convenience services.

Intellareturn RFID methods help to prevent warranty fraud with an end-to-end fraud reduction solution that integrates business policy, processes and information technology solutions and utilizes proactive monitoring tools in the courier shipping supply chain.

In 2000, Elliot Klein, the Company's Founder successfully demonstrated RFID integration for automated returns with the FedEx NetReturn® service. This was the first commercial RFID application in a courier shipping system and the first known RFID application for automated reverse logistics processing by any third party (3PL) shipper.

"This is an important patent," commented Elliot Klein, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "Together with our other patents, including U. S. patent number 6,259,367 which was issued in July 2001, we have a strong intellectual property position in the RFID reverse-logistics and post-sale warranty applications space."
