Intellareturn helps to automate the eBay ownership registration and transfer process in a courier shipping environment, linking PayPal® shipping payments and other owner warranty registration applications.

The result: warranties can be registered or transferred and shipments can be automated — complete with billing to PayPal accounts. How can this happen? It's simple — just affix an "eBay Return Shipper RFID Tag" to a product or package carton.

Custom eBay RFID Tags: A New Tool Supporting ID Verify
eBay's ID Verify establishes a member's proof of identity, enabling a solid trust factor between both buyers and sellers. In the ID Verify process, a third-party company collaborates with eBay to confirm member identity by cross-checking contact information through consumer and business databases. The ID Verify icon is displayed in a member profile and illustrates successful completion of the ID Verification process.

Intellareturn can link the ID Verify resource to establish proof of registration and identity, assisting both buyers and sellers. ID Verify services can be connected to Electronic Product Codes (EPC, managed by VeriSign) or other RFID data, where the Intellareturn Return Server provides direct eBay merchants with a set of self-adhesive RFID identifiers (labels).

Purchased and placed on or within each product, unique identifiers are electronically tracked through RFID transponders to provide a warranty registration for the product and shipment. The identifier can be read by shipping couriers or eBay return service locations to authorize delivery of the product, returning it to the new owner and billing the appropriate PayPal® or other eBay service account.

When a specific eBay-tagged product is brought to a courier return location, ownership and transfer shipping data is accessible there or by a return agent, facilitating identification and the shipping process. Sellers in the eBay Developer Community will be informed as we build and enhance Intellareturn reverse-logistics and warranty provisions to make it safer and more automated, building trust and value for all parties.
